Get Skilled stands offer in-depth knowledge about certain industries. You can discover new talents and try a variety of different skills when you get hands-on with a Get Skilled activity.

Experts are always on hand to help as you learn something new and try work-based skills; the aim is to ensure each Get Skilled stand represents a different career sector so we can promote as wide a range as possible to you, the visitors.

Meet the professionals at Stewart Milne and join in on demonstrations by qualified tradesman in joinery, bricklaying, plumbing and electrical.

Get skilled in Digital Technology
Presented by New College Lanarkshire
Let your creativity flow in a virtual space with Paint VR. You can also take the Art Plunge and step inside the following famous paintings: Mona Lisa, Starry Night, The Birth of Venus, The Creation of Adam and Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window.
Experience some of the many hazards faced by personnel working at heights in a health and safety awareness VR experience as well as learn all about the human anatomy.

Presented by City of Glasgow College
Get practical with the team at City of Glasgow College and test your fitness in some fun and challenging games.
Meet some real-life students and teaching staff to find out the different routes available to you.

Get Skilled 4
Get skilled in The Automotive Industry
Presented by Bosch Training UK
Gain in-depth advice on automotive apprenticeships and training with the industry professionals at Bosch Training UK.
Learn the ins and outs of engines using a block engine. Get hands-on in an Electrical Testing Challenge using multi metres and place the wiring in the place as fast as possible.

 

APPRENTICESHIP THEATRE

The Apprenticeship Theatre offers a full programme of exhibitor led seminars promoting apprenticeship options for students. Sessions will have a limited number of spaces and booked groups will be given priority to attend.

The Live Opportunities Board aims to provide you with the chance to find out about current vacancies available to you in your region.

Exhibitors use this board to post job vacancies, volunteer opportunities, traineeships, apprenticeship schemes and any other opportunities.

Ensure you take a look so that if any interest you, you also have the chance to speak to the organisation face-to-face at the event and find out all you can about the role.

Stem Zone

Discover rewarding and challenging careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in our Stem Zone. Hosted by Coca-Cola European Partners, the Stem Zone brings together some amazing names in the industry to help you to determine which path is right for you.

 

Construction Zone

People are often surprised by how many jobs are available in the construction industry, but there are many career paths to choose from. With so many ways to enter a career in construction, if can be difficult to know where to start! Visit the Construction Zone to learn where you could fit in.

  • Learn all about theatrical makeup from the professionals at Scottish Drama Training Network.
