Get Skilled stands
Dedicated Get Skilled stands offer in-depth knowledge about certain industries. You can discover new talents and try loads of different skills when you get hands-on with a Get Skilled activity.
Get Skilled 1 – Get Skilled in Catering hosted by The Cookery School @ Workforce Training Services
Do you have a passion for cooking? Develop your catering skills by learning to make some yummy treats and taste test your creations.
Get Skilled 2 – Get Skilled in the Automotive Industry hosted by Riverpark Training
Polishing of fresh paint work, diagnostic fault finding, engine, computer diagnostics and gearbox demonstrations will give you an insight into the automotive industry.
Get Skilled 3 – Get Skilled in Construction hosted by CITB NI
Meet Construction Ambassadors and take part in timed construction challenges which include building a mini model staircase and a mini model roof. You can also take the online Go Construct quiz to find out what job in the industry is perfect for you.
Get Skilled 4 – Get Skilled in Water Services hosted by Northern Ireland Water
Get involved with a demonstration highlighting what happens in various areas of water and wastewater services including rigging, drilling and drones.
Ambassador Hub
Ambassadors from local companies and colleges will be roaming the event and will be able to speak to other young people about their own career journeys. There will also be a timetable of apprentices from a whole range of industries available in the Apprenticeship Ambassador Hub, which will be sponsored by Belfast Met.
Careers Hub
Supported by the Department for the Economy’s Careers Service, the Careers Hub is an area is where you get the chance to have one to one advice from the experts. Topics including careers advice, interview skills, volunteering and starting your own business.
