The search is on for the Face of Skills Northern Ireland

The hunt for aspiring TV presenters, radio DJs or YouTubers is on, as young people across Northern Ireland are encouraged to apply to be the “face” of Skills Northern Ireland 2018.

Skills Northern Ireland is the largest careers, skills, jobs and apprenticeship event in Northern Ireland and will return to Belfast in November 2018.

The organisers are searching for a new presenter, who will be followed by a film crew as they explore the event and interview exhibitors and visitors. Last year, Cool FM breakfast presenter Paulo Ross took on the exciting role and can be seen in the video below meeting visitors, exhibitors and VIPs while trying out various careers. This year, we want to give a young person the opportunity to gain experience, giving them a great wow factor for their CV!

The presenter might be an apprentice or could be in school, college, university or work-based training, but will ultimately have a passion for broadcast media. They will be supported by a professional camera crew, and will gain unique experience interacting with lots of different people on camera.

Young people aged 16-25 can apply and must submit a 60 second video clip explaining why they should be the face of Skills Northern Ireland. Be as creative as possible, and show off your outgoing, approachable personality!

The entries will be judged by a panel including media professionals and PR experts. Winners will be chosen, to cover the event in Belfast on either 7 or 8 November so the winner must be available from 8am – 3pm for these dates.

The deadline to enter the competition is Friday 7 September 2018 and the winners will be notified by the end of September.
