Careers Leaders encouraged to register for National Career Guidance Shows 2019

Registration for the 2019 series of National Career Guidance Shows is now open.

These conventions are aimed at careers leaders, advisers, teachers, coaches, counsellors, enterprise advisers, job centre plus advisers, or anyone who works to provide careers education, advice, information and guidance to young people and adults.

For 2019 the theme of the event is “Pathways to Careers” and will showcase the many different pathways that can be taken to reach a potential career, so that visitors can take this information away and inspire the people that they support day-to-day.

As well as over 200 stands across the series for visitors to network and receive free resources from, the National Career Guidance Shows also boast free CPD certified seminars and talks which are full of fresh ideas from industry leaders and experts in their field. CPD Certificates are provided by the Career Development Institute (the CDI) who support the series of events.

Jan Ellis, Chief Executive of the CDI, said: “We have recently surveyed careers sector employers and know that many struggle to invest in CPD for their staff. The NCGS series of free one-day events combine the opportunity to talk to hundreds of employers and learning providers, with high quality seminars and presentations, making for a rich and intensive experience at minimal cost.”

Karrie Breen, Head of Events at Prospects Events, organisers of the National Career Guidance Shows, said: “The National Career Guidance Shows offer a unique opportunity for career professionals to access support from a wide range of oragnisations who can assist them in planning and delivering their career programmes. This will ensure they can meet the various requirements of the Gatsby Benchmarks, which are so key to the Government’s Careers Strategy.”

Sue Lovelock, Deputy Director for T Level Delivery Division at the Department for Education, has confirmed that she will speak at both the Leeds and Coventry events. Her seminar, entitled “An Introduction to T Levels” will highlight how these new qualifications offer an alternative “Pathway to Careers.” More speakers will be announced in the coming months so register now via the below links to keep updated:
