The Prospects Events team have been busy over the last few months with a total of 11 events from January to March. Events took place across the UK including the Heathrow Jobs and Careers Fair, Skills South West, Skills North West and the National Career Guidance Show series. The team delivered two brand new events, Skills Humber and the Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Graduation, which took place during the same week in March. The Skills London team also took part in an apprenticeship bus tour across London as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
The first event of the season, Heathrow Jobs and Careers Fair, took place at the Sofitel Hotel Terminal 5 and attracted a total of 5,606 visitors. The event was aimed at 16-24-year olds and was marketed to all secondary schools and colleges in the five key boroughs linked to Heathrow; Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Slough and Spelthorne. The team are also delivering the regional business summits for Heathrow, which are taking place across the country on a monthly basis.
Continuing with their expanding client business, Prospects Events delivered their first apprenticeship graduation event on behalf of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and in partnership with the Apprenticeship Hub. Over 100 graduates and 200 guests attended the prestigious St George’s Hall in Liverpool to celebrate the achievements of Liverpool City Region residents who have graduated from their apprenticeships.
Skills South West in Plymouth, Skills North West in Manchester and Skills Humber in Hull, form part of the Skills England series aimed at young people, their teachers and families. The events attracted a total of 14,401 visitors and provided local residents with the opportunity to explore the different career options available in their region by having a go at activities, attending career related seminars, watching demonstrations and interacting with employers. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, attended Skills North West to deliver a keynote speech and promote the huge range of opportunities available to young people.
The National Career Guidance Show series attracted 2,397 careers leaders, enterprise advisers, coaches and other professionals across the 4 events in London, Leeds, Coventry and Bristol. Visitors were able to access free CPD certified seminars and to speak with experts from a range of organisations, supporting the aim of the government’s career strategy that all young people receive advice and guidance from those with sufficient skills and experience.
