Skills London 2019 is supported by many organisations, including EY. Read on for an interview with Emma, an EY apprentice who first heard about EY at Skills London in 2016.*
Emma joined EY in September 2017 on their Tax Business Apprenticeship. Below she tells us about her role and experience at EY so far.
How did you first hear about EY?
I attended the Skills London careers fair towards the end of 2016, at which I gathered information about numerous potential employers and apprenticeship schemes. EY was the one that stood out the most to me.
How did you know you wanted to work in Tax?
What do you do in your role?
What do you like most about your day-to-day job?
What sort of clients do you have?
Do you work with technology in your role?
What surprised you most about EY when you started?
How has your role progressed since you started?
Do you feel like you have career options?
Do you find it easy to juggle work and a social life?
Do you have any proud moments to share?
What advice would you give someone trying to decide whether to join EY?
Ask others that have been through the application process and have worked at EY, everyone is happy to answer any questions and be open. Gather as much information as possible to make the most informed decision and be open to perhaps take a different path to that expected.
